What is Candy AI?
Candy AI (candy.ai) is a web platform where you chat with AI-generated characters, mostly in an adult, romantic setting. Its own navigation lists Chat, Collection, Generate Image, Create Character, My AI, Private Content and Shorts, and characters are sorted into Girls, Anime and Guys.
It is an adult product. The privacy policy requires users to be at least 18, and adult content and NSFW chat are part of what it sells. I keep descriptions here deliberately plain.
This review combines about three months of paid use with a close read of the terms, privacy policy and public pages. Where a rule comes from a policy, I name the source. Where it comes from my own account, I say so. For the wider category, see the AI girlfriend app guide, and for method, how we review.
How big is the AI companion category?
Candy sits in a market that is growing fast. According to TechCrunch, citing Appfigures data, there were 337 revenue-generating companion apps and $221 million of consumer spend by mid-2025, up 64% on the year before (TechCrunch).
The same report says the top 10% of apps earn 89% of the revenue. That matters for you because a crowded market means the lesser-known apps can disappear, and it is one reason I check who operates a service before paying.
Is Candy AI good? My short verdict
Yes for regular chatting, with limits. After about three months on the paid monthly plan, I rate Candy as the best value of the apps I have paid for, because text is unlimited and character customisation is good.
It is weaker if you want media on tap. The 100 monthly tokens, imperfect memory and a 24-hour refund window are the real drawbacks.
What I loved: unlimited text conversations and the affordable annual pricing. What annoyed me: the monthly token allowance feels limited if you like generating media.
If you only want to know whether it is worth the money, the Candy AI pricing page works through the numbers, and the Candy AI safety page covers trust.
Who runs Candy AI?
Candy AI is owned and operated by EverAI Limited, a company registered in Malta under number C107181, with an address at 56 Central Business Centre, Triq Is-Soll, Santa Venera SVR 1833. The terms of service say Maltese law governs.
That matched my billing: the name on my card statement was EverAI. A registered operator with a postal address and a help center is easier to hold to account than an anonymous site.
The help center is at everai.zendesk.com, with a separate Trust and Safety contact at helloeverai.zendesk.com. Both are listed from the legal information page. Candy’s own pages do not state a launch year, so I do not give one. Third parties say 2023, but that is not on the brand’s pages.

What features does Candy AI have?
Candy AI offers text chat, image generation, a character creator, saved characters, a private content area and short-form media, per its own navigation. The Premium page adds 18+ videos and what it calls a “Full Live Action Experience”.
| Area | What the site lists |
|---|---|
| Chat | Text chat with AI characters |
| Collection | Browse available characters |
| Generate Image | Image generation |
| Create Character | Build your own character |
| My AI | Your saved characters |
| Private Content | Locked or premium content area |
| Shorts | Short-form media |
The Premium page lists: create your own AI girlfriend(s), generate 18+ images, unlimited text messages, generate 18+ videos, “Full Live Action Experience” and 100 tokens per month. The site title advertises “Chat w/ Pics, Voice, & Video”, and the homepage promotes a “Live Action” character based on a real adult performer.
Voice calls exist in my account and are priced in tokens, covered below. I did not find a published description of the memory feature, and the NSFW policy wording is not something I could capture, so I describe those only from my own use.
Is Candy AI free, or do you have to pay?
Candy AI is only free as a short trial. The terms say a free user can generally send a maximum of 5 messages to AI characters, and after that you need a subscription.
Five messages is enough to see a character’s style, not to judge long conversations. It is also not a no-sign-up experience as far as I could verify: the research for this page could not confirm any guest chat.
If you want to chat without an account, the no sign-up AI girlfriend guide covers the options. Plans for Candy are billed monthly, quarterly or annually and renew automatically.
How much does Candy AI cost per month?
I paid $13.99 a month for the monthly plan, seen in my own account. The Premium page lists three plans: 12 Months (“70% OFF”, “BEST VALUE”), 3 Months (“30% OFF”) and 1 Month, and the yearly plan works out to roughly a quarter of the monthly price per month.

Prices appear in local currency based on your location, so the exact USD figure for the 3-month and yearly plans shows only at checkout. Review sites report about $5.99 a month on the annual plan, but I could not confirm that on Candy’s own page.
| Item | What it costs | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly plan | $13.99, includes unlimited text chat | My account |
| Monthly tokens | 100, generally, expire each period | Terms |
| Voice calls | 3 tokens per minute | My account |
| Images and video | Cost tokens, per-item cost not published | Not published |
The full breakdown, including a monthly versus yearly decision table, is on the Candy AI pricing page.
What are Candy AI tokens and how fast do they go?
Tokens are Candy’s in-app credits for features that cost more to run than text. The terms say a subscription generally includes 100 a month, used for image generation or voice notes, and they expire at the end of the billing period with no carry-over.
In plain words, text chat is the free-flowing part and tokens are the meter on everything else. If you regularly generate images, videos or use voice calls, 100 tokens go quickly. That was my experience.
Here is worked arithmetic, not a Candy claim. Voice calls cost 3 tokens a minute in my account, so 100 tokens would cover about 33 minutes of calls if you spent nothing else. Spread across a 30-day month, that is a little over one minute of calling a day.
Candy does not publish a per-image or per-video token cost, so I will not quote one. You see the cost inside the account. I handled the limit by saving tokens for the features I use most instead of spreading them across everything, and since subscription tokens do not carry over, hoarding them gains nothing.
How good is Candy AI chat?
Chat was the part I liked most. It is engaging, and character customisation is one of the better features: you can shape a character instead of taking a preset.
Under the hood, apps like this wrap a large language model, which is software trained on large amounts of text to predict the next words, in hidden instructions that set a character’s name, backstory and style. That is a general description of how companion apps are usually built, from a vendor explainer (Tavus), not something Candy has published about itself.
None of that stopped me chatting daily, and unlimited text is the main reason I rate Candy well for regular use. OurDream AI offers more chat model choice, but its replies felt repetitive to me at times.
Does Candy AI remember conversations?
Partly. Long-term memory is not perfect in my experience: over long conversations the character sometimes repeats things or loses track of something said earlier. Character consistency could also improve.
Candy does not publish how its memory works, so I can only report what I saw. A general explainer from Mem0, a vendor of memory software, says models cannot store memories about a user across conversations without added memory, and that products usually fetch relevant past facts and feed them back into each prompt (Mem0). That is a generic pattern, not proof of what Candy does.
How to work around memory drift
This is advice, not a test result. A model can only use the tokens that fit in its context window, which Google defines as the number of tokens a model can process in a given prompt (Google ML glossary). Anything pushed out of that window can be forgotten.
- Restate the one or two facts that matter, such as a name or a preference, when you start a long session.
- Keep a short personal note of your character’s key traits and paste it back if the character drifts.
- Use the customisation fields for traits you want to stay fixed, instead of relying on chat to hold them.

How good are Candy AI images?
Image quality is a strength of Candy AI. It rewards experimenting with looks and prompts, and the generator was one of the reasons I kept the subscription.
The catch is consistency. You do not always get the same face across generations, and small facial details change between images. If you want one character to look identical every time, expect some drift.
Tips for more consistent faces
Again, this is generic advice and not something I measured. Image tools that keep a character recognisable typically do it with a small add-on trained on that character, a technique called LoRA, short for Low-Rank Adaptation, which adds a small set of trainable weights to an image model (Hugging Face). I do not know whether Candy uses it.
What you can do without knowing:
- Reuse the same description wording for hair, eye colour and age cues across prompts.
- Change one thing at a time, such as the outfit, so you can tell what caused a face change.
- Spend tokens on a few images you will keep instead of many exploratory ones.
Does Candy AI do video and voice calls?
Yes. Video is available and costs tokens, and voice calls cost 3 tokens per minute in my account. The Premium page lists generating 18+ videos as a benefit.
Because the allowance is small, I saved tokens for the features I used most rather than spending them on video casually. Candy does not publish a per-video cost, so check the number in the account before you generate.
Voice calls are cheap per minute compared with OurDream, where calls are 50 coins a minute and 1,000 coins come with the monthly plan (OurDream help center). That works out to about 20 minutes of calls on OurDream, against about 33 on Candy, if you spent nothing else. Coins and tokens are different currencies, so treat that as a rough scale, not a like-for-like price.
Does Candy AI have a filter?
Yes, but it is not rigid. Moderation sometimes interrupted my prompts. Candy is not completely unrestricted, and whether something goes through depends on the prompt.
The blocked content policy states zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material and content resembling minors, and also bans illegal content and content promoting violence or self-harm.
Candy’s own pages that I could read do not spell out the full NSFW rules, so I do not claim to know exactly where the line sits. If a prompt is blocked, rewording is a better first move than repeating it.
How should you budget the 100 tokens?
Treat the 100 tokens as a monthly budget and decide the split before you start. Text costs nothing extra, so tokens only need to cover the media you actually care about.
Here is an illustrative example using the one price I can state, 3 tokens a minute for voice. Two 5-minute calls a week is about 40 minutes in a four-week month, which is 120 tokens, already over the allowance with nothing left for images or video. One 5-minute call a week is 60 tokens, which leaves 40 for media.
Those are my calculations, not Candy’s guidance. Check the cost of each image and video inside the account before you commit tokens, because I cannot quote a published figure.
How do you cancel Candy AI?
Open your account, go to Settings, then Unsubscribe. The terms say the subscription stays active until the end of the billing period, so you keep access you have already paid for. Cancelling stops the next renewal and does not refund the current one.
Do it a day or two before the renewal date, not on it. If you also want your data removed, that is a separate step, described on the safety page.
Why does Candy AI show as EverAI on a card statement?
The charge on my own statements showed as EverAI, which is the operator named in the terms. Candy does not publish why, so the reason is my inference: billing in the parent company’s name is common, and the research for this page found no source explaining it.
For context, adult sellers face extra rules from card networks. Mastercard requires banks to certify adult sellers on consent, age checks and review, as reported by Fox Business in 2021 (Fox Business). I could not confirm Visa’s equivalent. If you see an unfamiliar name, match it to EverAI before disputing anything.
Is Candy AI legit?
On the evidence I can check, yes. The service names a registered Maltese operator, publishes terms, a privacy policy, a blocked content policy and refund rules, and my three months of billing matched what the terms say.
Legit does not mean flawless. The 24-hour refund window, the training licence and staff review of flagged chats are real trade-offs, and I cover them in detail on the Candy AI safety page.
What are Candy AI’s refund and billing rules?
You can ask for a refund within 24 hours of payment, but a subscription refund is denied if you have used more than 20 tokens, and refunds apply only to card purchases. Cancelling stops renewal and does not refund.
| Rule | What the terms say |
|---|---|
| Refund window | Request within 24 hours of payment |
| Token usage | Subscription refund denied if you used more than 20 tokens |
| Payment type | Refunds only for card purchases |
| EU and UK | Withdrawal right, refund less a prorated amount for services used, within 14 days of notice |
| Chargeback | Immediately cancels the subscription and revokes tokens |
| Cancelling | Settings, then Unsubscribe; stays active to the end of the billing period |
What does the 20-token rule look like in practice?
At my account’s voice rate of 3 tokens a minute, 20 tokens is about 6 and a half minutes of calls. That is arithmetic, not a Candy statement, and it assumes you spend nothing else.
Image and video costs are not published, so a handful of generations could use the same 20 tokens quickly. If you might want your money back, do not spend tokens until you have decided.
Renewal warning
Watch the auto-renewal and check your subscription date. Intro and renewal pricing can differ, and the terms say price rises are announced before renewal. I kept my receipts and confirmation emails.
I have not tested support response times, so I cannot say how fast refunds are handled in practice. The rules are in the Candy terms of service.

Is Candy AI private and safe?
Candy describes chats as generally private, but flagged content may be manually reviewed by staff or partners, and the terms license your input for training and improving AI models and moderation. Retention is typically three years after your last account activity.
The privacy policy also says Candy will not disclose, sell, trade or otherwise transfer personal data to third parties without consent, with an exception for a merger or acquisition. Deletion is by request, since I saw no in-app steps.
Why this matters: the wider category has a poor record on privacy. Mozilla found in 2024 that all 11 romantic chatbots it reviewed earned a privacy warning label, per Infosecurity Magazine (Infosecurity Magazine). Nothing in my research reports a breach at Candy, but that is the absence of evidence, not a guarantee.
My practical advice: use a separate email address and keep real personal details out of chats. The full reasoning, with the cancel and erasure steps, is on Is Candy AI safe.
Is there a Candy AI app?
Third parties describe Candy as a web app that you can install as a PWA, and the site ships PWA icons. A progressive web app is built with web technologies and installs like an app (MDN).
I found no official EverAI listing on the App Store or Google Play, so treat any similarly named store app with caution, because I cannot confirm it is run by the operator. OurDream is also PWA only, see the OurDream AI review.
What do Reddit and Trustpilot say about Candy AI?
I cannot give you a fair summary of either. The official Trustpilot profile for candy.ai is currently removed, with a notice that it goes against the platform’s guidelines, and third-party snapshots of the old score conflict, so I do not quote one.
I also did not collect Reddit threads for this review, so I will not characterise them. Where a forum post conflicts with what is written in the terms or shown on your own checkout screen, trust the terms and the checkout screen.
My review rests on three months of paid use and the published policies, which you can check yourself.
Candy AI vs OurDream AI: which should you pick?
I paid for both. Candy is better value for regular chat. OurDream, at $19.99 monthly or $9.99 a month billed $119.88 yearly (OurDream help center), is better for experimenting with media, image editing, voice and video.
OurDream coins go quickly on video and voice, and its moderation frustrated me more than Candy’s. For the head to head, read Candy AI vs OurDream AI, or the OurDream review first.

Candy AI pros and cons
Candy AI’s main strengths are unlimited text and customisation. Its main weaknesses are the small token allowance and short refund window.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Unlimited text chat on a subscription | 100 monthly tokens go fast for media |
| Good character customisation | Memory repeats or loses earlier conversations |
| Strong image quality | Face and small details change between images |
| Voice calls at 3 tokens a minute | Moderation interrupts some prompts |
| Cheap annual plan per month | Per-feature token costs not published |
| Registered operator in Malta | 24-hour refund window with a 20-token cap |
| Says personal data is not sold | Chats licensed for AI training |
Who is Candy AI good for?
Candy AI suits people who mainly want to talk. If you want a customisable character and a predictable price, it fits.
- You want unlimited text chat for a modest monthly price.
- You like shaping a character with customisation.
- You will use images, video or calls occasionally and can ration 100 tokens.
- You are comfortable with chats being used to improve AI models.
Who should skip Candy AI?
Skip it if media generation is your main use, or if privacy and refund flexibility matter more than price.
- You generate images, video or voice calls heavily. The 100 tokens will run out.
- You need an identical face across every image.
- You want a long refund window. 24 hours is short.
- You do not want chats used for training or reviewed when flagged.
- You want a store-listed native app.
How did I test Candy AI?
I paid for Candy’s monthly Premium plan myself and used it for about three months. I used chat, image generation, video and voice calls, and I read the terms, privacy policy and blocked content policy.
What I did not test: support response times. I am not reporting any refund experience, so the refund rules above are what the terms say, not something I tried. The full method is on how we review, and the author page is Nina Castell.
My verdict on Candy AI
Of the apps I have paid for, Candy AI is the best value for regular chatting: unlimited text, decent customisation and an annual plan that is cheap per month. Its weak spots are the small token allowance, imperfect memory and a short refund window.
If you try it, use the free messages first, check the checkout price, and watch the renewal date. You can start here: Candy AI.
