How did I test this OurDream review?

I paid for the Standard plan for about three months on my own account, then checked what I saw against the pricing pages, terms, refund policy, privacy policy and help center, which are linked throughout. This is written by Nina Castell, and the method is on the how we test page.

What I did not test: how fast support replies. I make no claim either way. I also did not test the UK or Australian age-verification flow, and I did not buy a G2A key.

What is OurDream AI and who runs it?

OurDream AI (ourdream.ai) is an AI companion platform for adults. You pick or build a character, chat with it, and generate images, video and voice from the same account. If you searched for “our dream ai girlfriend” or “dream ai girlfriend”, this is the product those searches usually mean.

The terms of service say the agreement is with Dream Studio USA, Inc., a Delaware corporation with an address in Dover, Delaware. The refund policy also names Dream Studio LLC and Tektopia Ltd as co-providers.

The brand does not publish a launch year on the pages I read, so I do not guess one. It also does not publish the billing descriptor that appears on card statements. If discreet billing matters, ask support before paying.

What features does OurDream AI have?

The help center lists chat with two models, image generation and editing, video, voice calls, narration, a character creator and community packs. The one thing it refuses is reference photos of real people. Everything else sits behind a coin or subscription gate.

• Chat. Genius and Lively Genius models, plus group chat. Other languages are available on request, per the cost guide.
• Images. Generation and editing with models called Spark and Eclipse, plus an anime generator named Fluidity.
• Video. Clips priced per five seconds, up to 60 seconds.
• Voice. Voice calls and premium-voice narration of replies.
• Character creator. Build your own character and keep it unlisted or make it public.
• Community packs. One character’s full image and video library.

The help center says reference-photo upload is not allowed, because of possible deepfakes and legal problems. The acceptable use policy also bans real people, so you cannot recreate someone you know.

A large language model (LLM) is the text engine behind the chat. OurDream’s safety site says chats are processed by third-party AI model providers, which I come back to in the privacy section.

How much does OurDream AI cost per month?

OurDream sells one tier in the pages I read, called Standard. It is $19.99 a month billed monthly, or $9.99 a month billed as $119.88 once a year. Both include 1,000 dreamcoins a month, and the annual plan adds 1,000 bonus coins upfront. Prices are as of the time of writing.

Coin packs exist, but the buy-coins page is rendered behind login and the brand does not publish pack prices where I could read them. I list none. What the help center does say is that you can only buy extra coins while you hold an active subscription.

Is the annual plan worth it? The break-even maths

Paying yearly costs $119.88 against $239.88 for twelve monthly payments at the list price, a difference of $120.00. Six monthly payments come to $119.94, so the annual plan is cheaper once you would have stayed six months or longer.

The annual plan only wins if you actually stay. My three months at the list price would have cost $59.97 on monthly, which is half of what annual asks upfront. The notes I kept say to start monthly first, and I would repeat that advice.

Per 1,000 coins the monthly plan works out to $19.99 and the annual plan to $9.99, ignoring the 1,000 bonus. The help article does not state the yearly coin total, so I do not add it up for you.

How do OurDream AI coins work?

Dreamcoins are the in-app currency. Subscribers get 1,000 on their billing anniversary, the coins do not refresh monthly, and per the help center they do not expire. Coins can only be bought with an active subscription. Subscriber chats on the standard model cost 0 coins.

Per the help center (coin rules, refresh article):

• Subscribers receive 1,000 coins on their billing anniversary.
• Coins do not refresh monthly, so leftover coins are not wiped.
• Coins can only be bought while you hold an active subscription.
• Subscriber chats cost 0 coins on the standard model. Free-user chats cost 1 coin per message.

Do OurDream AI coins expire if I cancel?

This is where the help center disagrees with itself. One article says coins do not expire. The cancellation article says resubscribing creates a new subscription and old unused coins are not restored.

I cannot tell you which one wins, because I did not cancel and come back. The honest reading is that coins do not expire while you stay subscribed, and that you should not count on them surviving a lapse.

Two other events remove coins on purpose. After a refund, unused coins are removed. Deleting your account deletes unused coins too. If you plan to stop, spend what you have first.

My experience with coins

The Standard plan gives 1,000 dreamcoins a month, and unused coins did not expire for me. That is the best part of the system.

Video and voice burn coins fast. A 5-second video is about 100 coins and voice is 50 coins a minute, so a month’s allowance goes quickly if you lean on either.

What does each action cost in coins?

The cost guide lists these prices at the time of writing. I take them from the help center, not from a per-action test, and the guide was last edited a few months before I checked.

The community pack line is inconsistent. One help article says 1,000 coins per character, while the cost guide says 250, 750 or 1,000 by size. Check the price on screen before you buy. The pack content is blurred if your subscription lapses.

How far do 1,000 coins go on OurDream AI?

Take 1,000 coins and spend them on one thing. That is 200 standard images (two per 10 coins), or 200 images sent in chat at 5 coins each, or 20 minutes of voice calls, or 10 five-second video clips (50 seconds of video in total). All of this is arithmetic on the table above, not something I counted in the app.

One full 60-second video costs 1,200 coins, which is more than a whole month’s allowance.

What does a realistic monthly budget look like?

Nobody spends one thing only. Here are three mixes that each total exactly 1,000 coins, built from the cost guide. They are examples I built to show the maths, not a record of how I used my account.

Notice that video and voice each leave little room for anything else. A single 5-minute call costs 250 coins, a quarter of the month.

How does OurDream’s coin cost compare to Candy AI?

The currencies are different, so compare cost per minute of voice. On my own Candy AI account, voice calls were 3 tokens a minute, and the plan includes 100 tokens a month. That is about 33 minutes of calls, against 20 on OurDream. See Candy AI pricing for the plan side.

Price per voice minute, if you spent a whole plan on calls, is about $1.00 on OurDream ($19.99 for 20 minutes) and about $0.42 on Candy ($13.99, the monthly Premium price I saw, for about 33 minutes). The Candy AI terms also say subscription tokens expire at the end of the billing period, while OurDream says coins do not.

What is OurDream AI chat like?

OurDream AI chat runs on a choice of models, which makes it more customisable than a single-model app, and I liked having the choice. Conversations can get repetitive, and long-term memory needs work. For plain text chat I would not pick it over Candy AI.

Per the cost guide, subscriber chats on the standard model cost 0 coins, so text is not what drains your balance. The Genius and Lively Genius replies list at 1 coin for non-subscribers.

“Long-term memory” means whether the character remembers earlier chats. OurDream does not publish how its memory works, and my notes only say it needs work.

How good are OurDream AI images and editing?

Image generation plus editing was one of the most interesting parts for me. You can keep adjusting a picture instead of starting over, which suits experimenting with looks.

Character consistency across several images is worth checking before you rely on it. Do not assume the same face will come back every time.

Two things shape the cost. Editing is priced separately (10 coins on Spark, 20 on Eclipse), so heavy tweaking adds up. And non-subscribers cannot generate images at all, per the help center, with existing generations blurred.

How do OurDream AI videos and voice calls work?

OurDream AI videos are priced at 100 coins per 5 seconds, up to 60 seconds, and voice calls at 50 coins a minute. Both are available on the Standard plan, and both drain the 1,000 monthly coins faster than anything else. That was my main annoyance.

The video menu in the cost guide has more steps than a plain clip:

• Standard video: 100 coins per 5 seconds, 60 seconds max (1,200 coins).
• Ultra-quality video: listed at 200 coins.
• Enhance video: 50 coins per 5 seconds.
• Add audio to video: 20 coins per second of audio.

A 10-second standard clip with 10 seconds of added audio would be 200 plus 200, so 400 coins by my arithmetic. That is two fifths of a month for a short clip.

Voice also comes as narration. Premium-voice narration costs 5 coins per paragraph, a cheaper way to hear a character than a live call. I have no notes on voice quality, so I say nothing about it.

My practical rule from using it: pick the one media type you care about, and treat the other as an occasional extra.

Is OurDream AI free?

No, not officially. The help center says no free dreamcoins are offered, and it points to Discord giveaways. Browsing needs no account, but chatting, generating and publishing do.

What an official non-paying user can do:

• Browse the service without an account.
• Chat at 1 coin per message, if you have coins.
• Not generate images or video. Existing generations are blurred.

One third-party review (roborhythms) reports that a free account gets 55 one-time coins and a cap of 5 messages per character. That is a claim by a review site and not on any OurDream page I read, so do not plan around it.

How do payments work, including crypto?

OurDream accepts credit and debit cards and cryptocurrency. PayPal is not accepted. G2A reseller codes are the fallback route. Crypto confirmations take 15 minutes to 24 hours, and crypto payments are final and non-refundable, per the payment article and refund policy.

A G2A key goes into the Redeem Code field on your profile page. The help center lists a 1,000-dreamcoin key and a 1-year subscription key, and the coin key needs an active subscription before you can redeem it. I did not buy one.

Which plan should you start with?

Start monthly. The annual plan is $119.88 paid upfront, and the refund rules below limit what you get back. Watch auto-renewal, and keep your receipts and confirmation emails in case you need to contact support. That is the part of billing I would repeat most firmly.

How do refunds, cancellation and account deletion work?

OurDream runs a 14-day quality guarantee: contact support within 14 days and each case is judged individually. The unused part of a billing period is generally non-refundable, and the help center says no refund once more than 25% has been used. Crypto is final.

Can I get a refund from OurDream AI?

The refund policy and the refund help article give these rules:

• Quality guarantee: contact support within 14 days, case by case.
• No refund if more than 25% of the product has been used.
• A monthly plan is not refundable if the coins are used up.
• An annual plan may get a full or partial refund.
• Card refunds take 5 to 10 business days.
• After a refund, media is blurred and unused coins are removed.
• Crypto payments are final and non-refundable, except where the law prohibits that.
• Customers in the EEA, UK and Switzerland have a 14-day withdrawal right, which may be lost once you start using the service with your consent.

The 25% rule does not say what it measures. If it means coins, that is 250 of 1,000 on one monthly plan, but that is my reading, not the policy’s. Ask support before you spend if the answer matters to you.

Email [email protected] with your account email, a description of the issue and any supporting documents. Going straight to a chargeback without contacting them first may get the account suspended.

How to cancel OurDream AI

1. Go to your profile page on ourdream.ai.
2. Choose “Cancel subscription”.
3. Confirm.

Per the cancellation article, access continues until the period ends and there is no automatic refund. Spend your coins before the period ends, for the reason in the coin section above.

How to delete your account

1. Open your profile page.
2. Scroll to the “danger zone”.
3. Choose “delete my account”.

The deletion article says this is permanent and takes 24 to 48 hours. It removes generations, unpublished characters, chat history and unused coins, and cancels any active subscription.

Is OurDream AI safe to pay for and use privately?

OurDream says it will not sell your chats or user data, but its privacy policy lists training AI models among the purposes for your information, and chats go through third-party AI model providers. Staff see chats only with consent or a lawful request. Read the policy before sharing anything personal.

Key points from the privacy policy and the safety site:

• The policy names training “artificial intelligence/machine learning models” among the purposes for using information.
• Chats are processed by third-party AI model providers.
• The safety site says OurDream will not sell your chats. Separate California privacy-law (CCPA) language covers advertising and analytics cookies, and a Nevada opt-out is offered.
• Data is kept as long as needed, and some is kept for legal compliance.
• Public characters that become popular may stay active after you delete your account, with their traits preserved.

Why use a separate email for adult AI apps?

Breaches in this niche are the reason. Have I Been Pwned records that a Muah.ai breach exposed 1.9 million email addresses alongside prompts to generate AI images. Malwarebytes reported that two companion apps exposed 43 million messages through an unprotected server. Neither involved OurDream, and I know of no OurDream breach in the data I checked.

The lesson is general. A separate email, a payment method you are comfortable seeing on a statement, and not putting your real name in chats limit the damage if anything leaks. For the same questions on the other app, see is Candy AI safe. The broader AI girlfriend guide covers the category.

What are the content rules and why does the filter over-flag?

Adult and sexual content between consenting adult original characters is allowed for signed-in 18+ users. The brand does not claim to be uncensored. The filter is strict by the help center’s own account, and it flagged harmless content for me. That was the most frustrating area.

The acceptable use policy and prohibited content policy ban:

• Minors, or anything resembling them
• Real people, living or recently deceased
• Existing intellectual property, meaning named characters and named worlds
• Non-consensual content framed as appealing
• Hate content, bestiality, scat, vomit and vore, incest and necrophilia
• Religious figures
• Evading the filters

My experience matches the help center admission: the filters over-flag safe content, and it says the strictness is required to comply with third-party payment providers. Moderation interrupted normal conversations for me. If you want few guardrails, that is the friction to expect.

Why would payment providers drive it? Mastercard’s adult-content rules, as reported by Fox Business, make banks certify adult sellers on consent and age checks. I treat that as background: the Fox Business report dates from 2021, and OurDream names no specific provider.

How does age verification work on OurDream AI?

OurDream requires users to be 18 or the legal age in their country. In the UK, Australia and other regulated places it requires ID, face or card age verification through Go.cam or AgeVerif, which return pass or fail only, per its underage policy. I did not test that flow.

The UK part follows a regime. Ofcom’s age-assurance guidance requires “highly effective” checks for services that allow porn. Methods it names include photo-ID matching, facial age estimation and credit card checks, and self-declaration does not qualify. I could not read the PDF text directly, so the method list comes from reports of the guidance.

On enforcement, Captain Compliance reports that Ofcom opened an investigation into Novi Ltd, an AI companion service, over age assurance. That is a secondary source. It does not involve OurDream.

Which laws apply to AI companions like OurDream?

Two US state laws are in force that target companion chatbots. California’s SB 243 and New York’s companion law both require operators to tell users they are talking to an AI and to handle self-harm talk. I have no source saying how either applies to OurDream, and whether they reach adult NSFW companions is unconfirmed.

What the sources say the laws require:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has also opened an inquiry into companion chatbots and children and teens, but it named other companies and a 6(b) study is not an enforcement action. The data I hold does not say whether OurDream received an order.

Is there an OurDream AI app?

There is no native iOS or Android app. The help center says to use the site in a browser and add it to your home screen. That installs it as a progressive web app (PWA), which MDN describes as an app built with web platform technologies.

The help center gives no step-by-step menu names, so these are general steps and the labels vary by browser:

1. Open ourdream.ai in your mobile browser and sign in.
2. Open the browser’s share or menu button.
3. Choose the option to add the site to your home screen.
4. Open it from the new icon.

It behaves like an app icon but it is still the website.

What do other OurDream AI users complain about?

Beyond my own notes, a third-party review that quotes Reddit mentions a small free cap, slow support replies, character personalities that feel alike, and some tags hidden in Explore. I have not verified those on Reddit, and I did not test support response times.

There is no usable Trustpilot score either. The official Trustpilot profile for the brand shows as removed, and the lookalike pages I found may be other businesses, so I record no rating.

Who is OurDream AI for?

It suits you if you want to experiment with characters, image editing, voice and video. That is where it was strongest for me. It suits you less if you mostly want plain text chat, a free trial, a native app or loose filters.
